New Paltz Storm - 1st place Champions of the Greenwood Lake Soccer Tournament

The following players participated in the Greenwood Lake Indoor Soccer Tournament:

Alexandra Cymbal

Ryan Drake

Daniel Drewnowski

Julian Jacone

Logan Linares

Omelyan Shuhan

Wells Willet

The tournament started slow for the Storm with a win against the Florida Strikers.

The Storm turned up the pressure with the next two games and launched themselves

into the semi-finals against the Greenwood Lake Vipers.  The Storm easily defeated

the Vipers and moved into the Championship game against the Greenwood Lake

Lightning.  The Championship game was very exciting and even until the Storm's

Omelyan Shuhan struck a bullet into the back of the Lightning's net making the

score 1-0.  The game stayed even except for Shuhan's goal, and with Daniel

Drewnowski's perfect goalkeeping, the Storm clinched the championship and brought

1st place to New Paltz.  All of the Storm players were able to score a goal throughout

the tournament except for Logan Linares, who dominated the flank defense.

Without Logan's strong defensive turnout the Storm would not have placed 1st in

Greenwood Lake.  Great job and congratulations to the New Paltz Storm, champions.

"There's always the motivation of wanting to win.  Everybody has that.

But a champion needs, in their attitude, a motivation above and beyond winning."  -Pat Riley-
