Coach's Corner

“Give them a ball and set them free, young players have a great way of working the rest out themselves" Michael Beale

3/4 and 5/6 grades play WITH OFFSIDE, throw ins etc.

ALL FREE KICKS ARE INDIRECT EVEN "HANDBALL"

EXCEPTION: Penalty kick in case hand was used to prevent a goal!

NUMBER OF PLAYERS ON THE FIELD:

3/4 grade  30 minute practice followed by 4 x 12 minute quarters
6 v 6 plus goalie

5/6 grade 30 minute practice followed by 4 x 12 minute quarters
8 v 8 plus goalie (Bring goals to the 18 yard line (and put back later))

In case additional players are available from each team, form two teams using the extra players.
Reduce to 5 v 5 plus goalie if necessary!

Play with pinnies.

If there are less than 12 extras (Would make it 5 v 5 plus goalie)
Move to the 4 v 4 no goalie fields.

It is important that the children play rather than being subs.
At 4 x 12 minute quarters nobody should be winded enough to need a break.
If they do, just play a player down and adjust
